Zoo landing...

Next time a suggestion comes up to volunteer at the zoo and spend some quality time with the furry/scaly/beaked/webbed feet ones, think again.
I will ofcourse put the disclaimer at this point...Im highly afrocentric when it comes to matters pertaining zoos and game parks. Now bear in mind that its taken me 3 years to give in and give the zoo a chance and alas! what a discovery. I was in stiches from the word go and if you follow through the post you may see why.
I was part of the team assigned to the children's world which I have to note is a good concept i.e have an area just for children to interact with the wild. However, this took on a strange note for me as I entered what could possibly only be described as 'the animal farm'.
We were met by a tranquil area, well swept, neat and tidy...suspicious element no 1. The wild is a territory filled with mayhem, where were the bandits I asked myself? I hadnt even completed the thought when voila out of a coop fly out Chicken galore and I thought, 'youve got to be kidding me right?' Hot on their heels/wings was a squad of Goats! Yes sir Im talking hill billies, whatever you call them in your locale, bleating sons of a goat..or two..or three...'I must be in the wrong place' I thought to self. 'This is what sits in an average backyard back home, is this the live lunch that wil be fed to the lions and tigers later?' WRONG!! These were THE ANIMALES! I was in the zoo looking at domestic creatures! Any Kenyan reading this could get my drift. It was at that point that I decided it cant get worse and got on with the cleaning of the pens..darn!
Eventually, there was a trip round the zoo where truly zoo elements were found and my faith was somewhat restored...
Having lots of free time later on in the day, lots of scenarios went on in my head and so in pics..

And then other random moments...
