Annular eclipse in Nairobi

A week back or so, there was the sighting of an annular eclipse in some quarters of the globe. In the true Kenyan spirit, friends and family constantly texted me urging me to run out and witness this spectacular event not realizing that it was already night on my end of timezone. It’s especially brilliant getting sms from mum who the being a science teacher proceeds to give the entire history of the eclipse from start to end…you gotta love mums. So for those of us who didn’t have the privilege of this one which apparently happens once every 20 years, here’s one of the descriptions of what it felt like…..’It was like winter in the Middle East; faint sunshine without heat and then it was cold. More like sunrise at 2pm.’
